Area of Expertise

  • Government - "I have been dealing with this niche since I first started with Price Waterhouse in Canada in 1973. During my 28 years with BatesCarter, I evolved from being one of the staff members conducting the actual field work on government audits to the partner responsible for those audits. Until Beth Grimes was promoted to partner, government audits and related consulting occupied about 75% of my time due to the number of clients that we had in the area."

Why Government?
"Government interests me because of the need for accurate, meaningful information for elected officials & other users to assist them in making decisions. Because of the complexity of government audits and the related compliance auditing mandated by the federal Single Audit Act for federal grants, firms need to invest a considerable amount of resources to maintain a top-notch level of professionalism. Our firm had a history of making that kind of investment because we considered the government auditing and consulting area of prime importance."
