Sara Ogden signs the Elizabeth Hope Scholarship - Established in 2022

Sara established The Elizabeth Hope Scholarship (named after Sara's two daughters).  It will be awarded to a UNG student each year that demonstrates financial need and has a minimum GPA of 3.2.  Preference is given to single parents and students enrolled in a degree program with the Mike Cottrell College of Business.

Sara went through college as a single parent and knows how valuable every dollar can be to help someone take that next step up in life.  Sara said, "I've been blessed with my success at BatesCarter and want to pay forward the help I received in school to others."

We are so proud of you Sara Ogden!

2021 After Tax Season Party

PIE A PARTNER

To raise money and donate all proceeds to benefit Family Promise in Gainesville, BatesCarter staff could purchase a pie, or more, and pie a partner.  One catch; the partner can pay $$ to reverse the pie and pie the staff instead.  A lot of fun and laughter was had by all.  Some spouses got in on the fun.  Total raised and donated, $2,000.  Go team BatesCarter!!!

Team Bates Emerges Victorious at Tacos & Trivia

Tacos & Trivia is a fundraising event benefitting the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia. This event was held at Left Nut Brewing Company in Gainesville, Georgia. The Bates Carter team was able to pull off a win after going all in on the final question.

Brandon Deraney received his CPA certification!

Congratulations to Brandon on his accomplishment.  Brandon joined BatesCarter as a staff accountant in 2015 after graduating with a BBA and MAcc from Georgia College.

Some bowling fun with Stewart, Melvin & Frost.

BatesCarter enjoying another staff function with a little competitive bowling with Gainesville law firm, Stewart, Melvin and Frost.  See our photo gallery for all photos.

A friendly wager was made that the losing team would donate $100 to Special Olympics. Therefore Stewart, Melvin & Frost made the donation   ;  BatesCarter matched the donation.  It was all in fun and for a good cause.  Thanks to all who were able to participate.

Taking a motorcycle break.

Karen Montgomery is our resident motorcyclist.  Karen and her husband, Dan, have been involved with The Christian Motorcycle Association for over 30 years.  They involve themselves in local chapters everywhere they have resided.  CMA has a national fundraiser once a year for evangelist purposes. 60% of the funds go to 3 partner organizations and CMA keeps 40% for evangelistic outreach within the United States.  This year the fundraising goal is $5,000,000.  The total raised will be announced at the National CMA rally in June.

Karen and Dan have gone on several mission trips with CMA to present motorcycles to pastors in other countries who would never be able to afford transportation to their many churches.  It helps them plant churches and visit on a regular basis.  The local chapter in Gainesville is called Unchained Riders and they are involved in many areas of servant type ministry.

You can often find Karen and Dan at Frazier's Harley Davidson in Buford helping with events, and helping at some of the other major motorcycle events in the area.  They also go on fun rides around the area and have ridden cross country more than once.

2016 After Tax Season Barbecue

After many hours and hard work by everyone at the firm, the staff took time to unwind with a barbecue and some fun and games.  Starting out the afternoon with a treasure hunt throughout the town of Gainesville and finishing with a barbecue and corn hole toss back at the office.  Lots of much-needed laughter and fellowship was enjoyed by all.  See them all in our photo gallery.
