Jacob McConnell - Tax Senior
Jacob was born in Florida, but has called Gainesville home for over 20 years. He has lived most of his life in Gainesville, and graduated from Gainesville High. He went to college in North Carolina at a small university named Gardner-Webb, where he majored in Accounting.
After college, he worked for a small manufacturer in Kings Mountain, NC. He specialized in inventory control, cash collection and optimizing business processes. While employed, he earned his Masters degree in Accounting from Gardner-Webb.
In January 2018, he left the manufacturing position to pursue a career in professional umpiring. He has umpired professionaly for six seasons, two seasons in Independent Professional Baseball and four seasons in the Minor League System. He continues to umpire in the Minor League system.
In the winter of 2020, he joined BatesCarter as a Staff Accountant. He works for BatesCarter in a part-time capacity while umpiring during the Minor League season and a full-time capacity when the season is over. In January 2021, he received a promotion to Senior Accountant. Jacob continues to work with both the tax and audit departments at BatesCarter.
